Come on a walk with me to see what I saw today when I went walking in the first fresh snowfall in Ottawa.
25 cm of snow!
First snowfall. Fresh. Pristine. Clean. Beautiful. Sparking. Bright.
It sits prettily on the trees, nestled on the branches in every crook and curve.
We bundle up with heavy boots, hats, coats, mittens and scarves.
We clear snow from our cars.
We shovel our driveways.
Lucky ones have snow blowers.

Snow plows are busy making sure that roads are accessible.

Those young at heart are out building forts, snowmen, throwing snow balls, wresting in the snow.
Snowboarders and skiers are thrilled. It is written all over their faces.
Little kids get pulled along in sleds – what a ride!
Even the dogs are happy too!
Life continues. Buses are running. Car parks are full.
By the end of the day you can find some heaps of snow in various locations.
A nice day for a hot chocolate.
I hope that you enjoyed this walk with me! It was so lovely to be out in in the first fresh snowfall!
Love,
Magdalene
